Our acts are as follows…
RADU ISAC
Radu was a professional stand-up comedian in his former home of Romania and was known as Romania’s “comedians’ comedian”. Shortly after moving to London, he was a finalist in the English Comedian of the Year competition.
He’s made a name for himself as the king of the misanthropes, setting out his bleak world view one gag at a time. His sugar-coated depravity forces laughs out of those who should really know better – venomous but twinkly, like a snake dipped in glitter.
His stand-up has featured on multiple BBC and Comedy Central programs such as Stand Up Express (Comedy Central), What Makes The World Laugh (BBC World Service), Fresh From the Fringe (BBC Radio 4) and The Arts Hour (BBC World Service).
“Simultaneously sweet and dark” – Chortle
MATT PUGSLEY
Matt Pugsley is a fairly new deadpan comedian who has been making big waves on the UK comedy circuit, He blends rapid-fire one-liners and hilarious short stories told through a working-class lens.
Popular with audiences, he has performed on some incredible stages across the UK and has made all the major comedy clubs sit up and take notice, This really is one of those “See him while you can still afford to” moments
“Took the roof off! A brilliant mind with fantastic lines” – Comedy Huddle
ANNETTE FAGON
Annette Fagon is a loud and engaging comic newcomer, making fast progress on the UK comedy circuit. Growing up as that rare thing in the midlands of the 1980s, the daughter of a Jamaican newsagent mother, has clearly left its mark. Despite years of child drama classes and theatre performances, Annette frustrated her mother by spending 6 years at university, leaving without a degree, and returning to work there for a further 2 years. After a variety of odd jobs – disability support worker, theatre house manager, comedy club waitress – Annette took up an odder job, in stand up comedy 3 years ago. Currently talking – loudly – about everything from hoodies and mobile phone habits to Beyonce’s mental state, she has made rapid progress, appearing at theatres such as Nottingham Playhouse and comedy clubs such as Jongleurs – on the Upfront Café Tour.
Annette’s early efforts have quickly created a buzz that led to a nomination as Best Newcomer at the 2006 BECA Awards and Midlands Stand Up Runner up 2007 There’s more to come.
“With this sort of retro observational comedy, she’s just like Peter Kay would be – well, if he were female, black and from Leicester” CHORTLE
